Inside Seamans Center

For a new install on a machine in Seamans Center you will need a personal license password and a license file for use during the installation (see install instructions below).

Outside Seamans Center and Off Campus

For an installation on a machine outside Seamans Center or off campus, you will need a personal license password and a license file. As with any installation done outside of the Seamans Center, you will also need the SecureCRT software-tether.ini session file. Download the session file and place it in the Sessions directory for SecureCRT. The default install location is C:\Documents and Settings\your-account-name\ApplicationData\VanDyke\Config\Sessions.

Note: you must place the Matlab Installer.exe and MATLAB74.zip in the same folder. See Installation Instructions below.

Matlab Installation Instructions

The files to download are linked above.

1. Download the Installer [Installer.exe], and Matlab 7.4 [MATLAB74.zip] ( and Simulink 6.6.1 [Simulink661.zip], if needed) into the same directory.

2. Double click on Installer.exe and follow these installation instructions: pdf or doc.

If Trouble

If you have entered all the setup information in step #2 above and the installer reports "The PLP you entered does not contain any products that are available from this location.", verify that the Installer and Matlab7.4 files are located in the same directory (folder). Another reason for the error is a corrupted zip file. Perhaps the download did not complete properly or something else happened to make the file incomplete. Delete all the Matlab files, folders, and the installer, and re-download the Installer and the MATLAB74.zip file. Try installing again.
