Configuring Eudora 6
Eudora is a graphical email program than runs on Windows (and Macintosh) computers.
To set up Eudora on a self-administered or home computer, download Eudora from the ITS software page. The download file is a self-extracting file. Double click to open and install Eudora. Answer the installer questions and use the information below to set up Eudora.

Once your intial set up is completed, go to Tools | Options | Checking Mail and set "Secure Sockets when Receiving" to Required, STARTTLS.
Once Eudora starts, you should activate using the College of Engineering and
the University of Iowa directories. Go to Tools | Directory Services or press Ctrl Y. On the right side of the Directory Services
screen, you’ll see the Protocols and Servers. Check the boxes for White
Pages University of Iowa and College of Engineering Directory, as shown.
Notice that Eudora will query several directories at the same time. Any directory that is checked will be searched, as well as your address book(s), when you enter a query.
Once Eudora is running, to change or check any settings, go to Tools | Options. You'll find settings to change how Eudora acts and appears.
You can change many settings on each screen. See the sample Getting Started screen below where you can modify your real name, return address, etc.

The Checking Mail category has settings for how often to check for new messages and save password. Sending mail has a setting to send messages immediately or queue written messages for sending. Chose stationery or signatures, and keeping copies of sent messages in Composing Mail. To set a preview window, go to Viewing Mail. Set spelling options from Spell Checking.
