that has been edited and updated by Carrie Hogarty on Jan. 28, 2008] In November 2000 a computer-based assessment tool, called EASY (Evaluation and Assessment SurveY) was developed by the College of Engineering. The tool is available for use to create Course Goals Assessment (CGA) surveys to assist in the data collection part of our ABET preparation. For example, a survey can be created to ask course-specific questions, based on course goals that are related to ABET a-k criteria that show what students in the course have learned. EASY is also being used by College of Engineering Departments and the Student Development Center to survey graduating students and is being used as a replacement for The University of Iowa paper based Assessing the Classroom Environment (ACE) teaching effectiveness survey. EASY
is based on a relational database system and is operated
and supported by the Engineering Computer Systems and Support (CSS) department.
It runs from an application on your Windows machine to design and create
surveys. Surveys are then taken from any internet session on any machine,
on or off campus, using Please send us an email if you are interested in having a survey created for your College of Engineering course or a specific target audience. Alternatively you may contact Alec Scranton or Carrie Hogarty. EASY Home College of Engineering © The University of Iowa 2003. All rights reserved. |
